New Superintendent Named
Beginning July 1, 2010, with the retirement of pastor Ken Rankin, Dr. Tricia Meyer will assume the role of Superintendent of Fremont Christian School.  Dr. Tricia Meyer attended Fremont Christian School from preschool through her senior graduation. After earning her BA in English, she returned to FCS where, over a three year period, she taught American Literature, AP English Language, and AP English Literature, serving also as yearbook and USB adviser. She eventually moved into college/career counseling and then took on the role of Secondary Campus Vice Principal. She became the Secondary Campus Principal in 2000 after earning her Master of Education degree and California Administrative Credential. This year she has held the position of Assistant Superintendent as well as Secondary Principal. Fulfilling her many and varied responsibilities while working on her dissertation, Mrs. Meyer earned her doctorate degree.

Dr. Tricia Meyer says about FCS, “I think that for most students to feel comfortable asking questions, to develop ideas and understanding through classroom dialogue and to be willing to work hard enough to produce assessments that show creativity and depth of thought, they have to have self-confidence and an eye on a meaningful and productive future. My goal for FCS is that we have classrooms of students who exercise humility and treat each other the way Christ treats us: with compassion and dignity. When students are treated well by their peers, they will be more willing to take on the challenges of learning. When they understand Christ and the mind of God revealed to us in scripture, they start to have an eternal perspective which causes them to reflect on their own motivations and behaviors. I would love to see students who think carefully, act meaningfully and consistently show love.

THANK YOU

Honoring his 42 years of service, we want to express our appreciation for the dedication, hard work, love for Christ and godly example of Reverend Charles Kenneth Rankin.  He has been involved with Fremont Christian School from its inception in 1968. He earned his Bachelor of Christian Education from Central Bible College in 1965.   He completed a Master of Education at the State University of New York in 1970. He holds a Life Administrative Certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International. In July 2007 he was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Education. Reverend Rankin is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri. He has been a minister since 1966 and has served as Senior Associate Pastor of Harbor Light Church and Fremont Christian School for 42 years.

As co-founder of Fremont Christian School, Reverend Rankin has been the primary spiritual influence on campus. He has maintained the integrity of the school’s mission and philosophy through consistent prayer, personal example, and clear articulation of vision. Distinguished Christian alumni are testimony to his personal influence.

His spiritual contribution to the community and its leaders is also quite significant. For 13 years he served as Chaplin for the Fremont Fire Department. He presently is serving the community as a member of the Washington Township Health Care District Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee. There are five members of this committee to review and report to the public on the $190M bond to finance the hospital expansion. For over 33 years he has been a member of the Niles/Fremont Rotary Club. He has received multiple awards from the Paul Harris Foundation for generous contributions to the largest educational foundation in the world.

On a personal note, Pastor Rankin has been married to his wife, Barbara, for over 45 years. They have four children and seven grand-children. All four of their children are graduates of Fremont Christian School. Kenneth Jr. graduated from Vanguard University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He & his wife Nicole have two children enrolled in FCS. Shareese attended North Central University. She & her husband, James, reside in Texas with their five children. Brad graduated from Vanguard University with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters Degree. He resides with his wife, Carrie, in Virginia. Mike is a business owner in Fremont.
